Quake Lake

As soon as Grant and I got home from our wedding and honeymoon, we decided to take a trip over to West Yellowstone. We camped over night and in the morning went to a place called Quake Lake. There was a 7.5 rictor scale earthquake in 1959 near this lake. The original lake was called Hebgen Lake. When the quake hit, it split the highway in half and caused a back up of the river that caused Hebgen Lake, who's north shore dropped 19 feet. Because of this back up there was major flooding and Quake Lake was formed. 28 people died in land slides and 5 more drown because of the flooding.
This is a cabin that got overcame by the flood waters and huge waves when the quake happened.
